This land is home to the famous Vĩnh Tế Canal, which runs along the Vietnam–Cambodia border from Châu Đốc city down to Hà Tiên town. It was once the longest, largest, and most time-consuming canal project in feudal Vietnamese history.

Views of the historic Vĩnh Tế Canal:In Châu Đốc, there is the national-level festival “Vía Bà Chúa Xứ Núi Sam,” an annual religious event that attracts pilgrims and tourists from all over the country.Though both in An Giang, Long Xuyên fish noodle soup and Châu Đốc fish noodle soup have distinct differences. Châu Đốc version is seasoned to suit Vietnamese tastes.

If you have time, make sure to visit Trà Sư Melaleuca Forest. Once a wild, overgrown area, it has been developed into a diverse ecological zone with planted cajuput trees. Many young backpackers choose this spot for their adventures.
