Familiar bridges around Vinh Long City

Vinh Long

The familiar old bridges around Vĩnh Long City in the past have now been rebuilt larger and more solidly. These bridges connect the joyful riverbanks, making travel easier for residents while also elevating the overall appearance of Vĩnh Long City.

Vĩnh Long City has a historical tradition dating back more than 300 years, originally known as Long Hồ Dinh. It was an early urban settlement with bustling trade on the wharves and boats. The main goods were agricultural products, fruits, and various handicrafts.

Vĩnh Long was officially recognized as a Type III urban area in 2007. It serves as a key waterway and road transportation hub and is one of the prominent garden-ecology cities in the Mekong Delta region.

Thanks to investment attention from the central government and the province, many beloved bridges familiar to Vĩnh Long residents—such as Cầu Lộ, Cầu Cái Cá, Cầu Cái Cam, Cầu Bình Lữ, Cầu Tân Hữu, Cầu Vồng, Cầu Lầu, Cầu Thiềng Đức, Cầu Bạch Đằng, and others—have been rebuilt larger and more beautiful. This makes daily travel more convenient and contributes to enhancing the modern face of Vĩnh Long City.
