The Mekong Delta is not famous for long, flat beaches with crystal-clear water. Instead, the seas of the Mekong Delta are known for their own unique charm, often affectionately referred to as “orchard seas.”

Tan Thanh Beach – The Sea and Clams
If you are looking for peace and tranquility—watching the sun set, leisurely strolling along a long stretch of smooth sand beneath your feet, observing the life of the sea and the farmers who cultivate it—then Tan Thanh Beach in Go Cong is the place to be.
Tan Thanh Beach stretches over 7 kilometers and lies near a river mouth, so the water is quite murky. However, don’t be disappointed, as this is truly one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, with soft, velvety sand rarely found elsewhere. The sea surface is as calm as a pond, extending for kilometers. You can freely run on the sand, splash in the water, play with the sand, and admire the clam huts precariously standing in the middle of the sea.
Enjoy the fresh air, relax in a quiet setting, learn about the daily customs of local fishermen, and savor regional specialties. In addition, from the third to the ninth lunar month, visitors can enjoy the experience of harvesting clams by hand and cooking their own dishes.
From My Tho, take National Highway 1, turn onto National Highway 50 for about 50 km to reach Go Cong, then continue for another 10 kilometers to arrive at Tan Thanh Beach.
Ba Dong Beach, Tra Vinh
Although it has been developed for quite some time, Ba Dong Beach still retains its wild beauty, with undulating sand dunes, rows of tall green casuarina trees, and a flat sandy shore animated by colorful seashells.
The name Ba Dong Beach originates from its white sand ridges. Unlike other beaches in the Mekong Delta, Ba Dong is characterized by stronger, rolling waves. It is often likened to the beaches of Central Vietnam, with a strong sea breeze and distinctive local delicacies such as “chu u,” a type of crab-related seafood with a stockier, slower appearance. If you haven’t tasted chu u, it’s as if you haven’t truly been to Ba Dong.
Ba Dong Beach is located in Truong Hoa Commune, Duyen Hai District, Tra Vinh Province.
Mui Nai Beach, Ha Tien
Quiet and natural, this beach possesses a unique charm that attracts those longing to return to nature. To enjoy the romantic atmosphere of the sea, you should visit in the late afternoon. Sitting on the sand as the sun slowly sets, quietly listening to the rustling wind over the waves and the cries of seagulls circling the sky, you can fully appreciate the poetic beauty of the sea.
Rich in the distinctive character of the southwestern coastal region, Mui Nai is well known to both domestic and international travelers. From the mountaintop, visitors can take in the full beauty of Mui Nai Beach, the Ta Pang forest, distant offshore islands, and the solemn lighthouse. Enjoying fresh seafood and seasonal fruits at affordable prices is one of the highlights that draws travelers here.
Nam Pho Beach, Kien Giang
This place still preserves the untouched beauty of wild nature. Lush green vegetation grows naturally, while rows of tall coconut trees, decades old, resemble long flowing hair cascading along the beautiful shoreline. All year round, the sea waves here are gentle ripples, not noisy like in other coastal areas. Seafarers say this is a calm sea, free of submerged rocks and whirlpools. At times, the sea is so still that it resembles a tranquil autumn lake.
Nam Pho has two bathing beaches: Hon Heo and Bai Ot, each with its own unique features. Bai Ot is vast, with fine golden sand and clear blue water, while Hon Heo is nestled within the coastal fishing village of the same name.
Nam Pho Beach is located in Duong Hoa Commune, Kien Luong District, Kien Giang Province.
Khai Long Beach, Ca Mau
Khai Long Beach lies along the East Sea, within a mangrove forest ecosystem. Standing on Khai Long Beach, visitors can admire the pristine beauty of the majestic Hon Khoai island cluster. The beach features relatively flat golden sand and gentle waves. At sunset, the entire seascape glows brilliantly.
Khai Long Beach boasts clear blue seawater that delights visitors. Those seeking adventure can choose to explore the mangrove forest, weaving through reeds and navigating around gnarled mangrove roots, as if gently brushing against them—an experience that offers rare and unforgettable moments on a seaside journey.
