The tomb of Vice-Doctor Nguyen Sinh Sac is located next to Hoa Long Pagoda, right within the heart of Cao Lanh City. This is a famous historical and cultural complex of Dong Thap Province in particular and the country in general, recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) on April 9, 1992.

The entire complex spans 3.6 hectares and is divided into three areas: the tomb of Vice-Doctor Nguyen Sinh Sac, Uncle Ho’s stilt house, and the lotus pond. The site offers a relaxing and light feeling as the pure, elegant white of the structures stands out against the colors of flowers and leaves. These include the tomb dome, the lotus pond, the souvenir room, the Uncle Ho exhibition house, and the exhibition house introducing Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac and Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan (Uncle Ho’s parents). The simple and slender cement fences act as backdrops, enhancing the beauty of the premises, which feature hundreds of rare fruit trees, flowers, and ornamental plants donated by locals and neighboring provinces. Everything exudes a sense of majesty yet simplicity, solemnity yet intimacy, making visitors feel as though they are living in a sacred atmosphere, filled with emotion remembering the contributions of Uncle Ho and his parents…

Perhaps you do not know that all these structures were not only meticulously built but also carry deep significance. The tomb dome faces East and is designed as a stylized lotus petal, shaped like a palm facing downward. Above it are nine stylized dragons with bold folk features, extending forward into nine gables, symbolizing the people of the Mekong Delta protecting and embracing the grave of the patriotic scholar. The tomb of Vice-Doctor Nguyen Sinh Sac is clad in granite, with an ash-grey rectangular mound resting on a white terrazzo base. The base is an irregular hexagon that expands gradually toward the sides and the front. About 25 meters in front of the dome is a five-pointed star-shaped lotus pond. In the middle of the pond stands a stylized white lotus pedestal, 6.5 meters high, symbolizing the frugal life and pure conscience of Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac, as well as representing the beloved land of Dong Thap rising straight within the heart of the Vietnamese Fatherland…

Every year, on the 27th day of the 10th lunar month, people from across the Mekong Delta and other regions gather here to celebrate the death anniversary of Vice-Doctor Nguyen Sinh Sac in a solemn and grand atmosphere, as joyful as a major festival rich in national cultural identity.
