Proper and thorough moisturizing for your skin during the cold season.

Proper moisturizing will help your skin avoid flaking and become more radiant during the winter days.

The transition period from autumn to winter is when the weather changes most noticeably, and it is also a sensitive time for the skin. Moving from the dry season—which is already considered a challenging time for skin and hair care—into the cold season causes the skin to become dry, cracked, and flaky.

What you need to do most at this time is to learn about a suitable skincare routine that not only helps you take comprehensive care of your skin but also enhances its natural resistance.

  1. Full-body moisturizing

Cold air, wind, and the use of hot water make your skin prone to moisture loss and dryness. In winter body skincare routines, bathing is the first and most important step, because only when your skin is clean and sufficiently moisturized can it effectively absorb the moisturizing and beauty products applied afterward.

First, boil a pot of water with a few chamomile flowers and a cup of dried rosemary for about 15 minutes. Then strain the mixture and add this water to your bathtub. This “bath water” formula helps detoxify, cleanse, and relax you during your bath. After bathing, you can apply body lotion to make your skin softer and smoother.

  1. Natural face masks

For facial skin, in addition to drinking enough water, you should apply a face mask once a week to provide essential nutrients for your skin.

The formula is as follows: Take 1/2 cup of yogurt, 1/2 an avocado, and 1/4 tablespoon of honey, then mix them together in a small bowl. Apply this mixture to your face (avoiding the eye area) for about 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water and gently pat dry with a soft towel.

Lactic acid in yogurt has anti-inflammatory properties, avocado is rich in vitamin B and fatty acids that help nourish and balance moisture levels, while honey provides effective moisturizing benefits.

  1. Humidifier

Creating moisture in the room with a mini humidifier also helps improve dry skin during the cold season. Before going to bed, you can turn it on for a while and then turn it off so that the surrounding air does not become too dry and negatively affect your skin.

  1. Moisturizing cream and face oil

Use both a moisturizing cream and face oil, but apply the moisturizer first and wait about 15 minutes before layering the face oil. This combination helps keep the skin well moisturized and fully hydrated. In addition, for those with very dry skin, it is recommended to use a sleeping mask twice a week.
