C\u1ea7n Th\u01a1 is famous for its b\u00e1nh l\u1ecdt made with magenta plant (l\u00e1 c\u1ea9m) that gives a purple color, but pandan green is much more common.B\u00e1nh from C\u1ea7n Th\u01a1 has long been famous for being delicious. But you rarely see anyone selling it on the streets nowadays. It seems as though traditional cakes and desserts have disappeared to make way for Western-style treats like donuts, churros, tiramisu\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\">\n<figure class=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"337\" src=\"https:\/\/vanhoamientay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/banh-lot-1.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1148\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vanhoamientay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/banh-lot-1.webp 480w, https:\/\/vanhoamientay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/banh-lot-1-300x211.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>B\u00e1nh from C\u1ea7n Th\u01a1 has long been famous for being delicious.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><br>Not entirely true\u2014there are still special spaces reserved for this delicious treat: sidewalk drink stalls or pushcarts run by aunts and women who have come all the way from the Mekong Delta to make a living.<br>Like many traditional Vietnamese cakes, the makers buy regular rice, grind it into fresh flour themselves instead of using pre-packaged dry flour from the market\u2014homemade ground rice flour tastes much better.<br>Authentic traditional b\u00e1nh l\u1ecdt has individual strands that separate easily, are soft and delicate, and carry a wonderful pandan fragrance. If too much tapioca starch is added, the strands become chewy and slightly tough, thick, long, rough, and clumpy. When eating, everything is mixed together in a glass with ice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Actually, traditional b\u00e1nh l\u1ecdt is just like that.
